I Don’t Know How A Lot Of Companies Are Staying In Business In This Economy

I have a Youtube Premium subscription (and if you don’t, I highly recommend it), and so I watch a ton of videos all day and night. I don’t buy cable tv, nor subscribe to the Netflix, Hulu, or anything similar. If I’m awake, I’m probably seeing at least one Youtube video every hour. I may go watch a free Tubi movie sometimes. Among some of the topics I watch videos about, are those where content creators are bringing awareness to business loss, especially among fast food places. I myself have cut out a lot of fast food buying, and try to stick to whatever I buy at the grocery store. Just like everyone else, I’ve been watching my weekly grocery cart contain less items while the cost gets higher for months, actually a couple of years now (why do I feel like I already wrote about this – I probably have – oh well). I know I’m not telling anybody anything they don’t already know on that topic. This morning however was a real slap in the face. I picked all of my normal items, and many of them showed mark downs on the new digital tags. I bought about 8 canned food items, 3x 1 liter Sprite, 3 Starbucks 40oz Caramel Machiatto (I started buying those in place of K-cups because I got too lazy to mix up my own damn coffee lol), some precooked sausage patties, hot dog and hamburger buns, eggs, milk, and. few other fridge and freezer items. I barely filled the bottom of the buggy (cart for you prissy people), and spent just as much, or more for less than last week. I am getting sick of it. This is definitely a complaint, but not a complaint because I can’t afford the rise in cost, but because the rise in cost is bullshit. My slow ass figured something out at the gas pump this morning though. Last week the gas was higher. This week it was lower. Last week I limited my gas purchase to $40 for what I thought I could get away with for a week, and I made it through the week. This morning I bought a $45 fill up. The lesson learned is maybe I don’t always need to fill up my vehicle completely full, and I need to set a weekly gas purchase on a budget I choose instead when the gas prices are so high, and stay off of the highway as much as possible. For years I have just let the gas pump go until it stopped on it’s own. I think with this economy however, a change is in order, and I need to monitor more closely how full my vehicle stays from week to week on a price limit I choose.
