From this point forward, I give my time, love, and attention only to those who meet me with honesty, respect, and effort.

  • Get Real Quotes 011

10 more quotes for living a real life, part 11.

    Real Words:

    1. Concentrated thoughts produce desired results. – Zig Ziglar
    2. Consciously creating and endlessly repeating mantras that are aligned with what you’d like to experience and who you’d like to become is a powerful way to change your life.
    3. Consistency is key. Don’t be afraid to start over.
    4. Consistency is stronger than intensity. The person who writes one page every day will go further than the one who writes fifty pages once. Small actions repeated over time create real change. You don’t need a perfect plan. You need a routine you can maintain.
    5. Consistency is what transforms average into excellence.
    6. Constantly saying yes when you would really love to say no is the most famous boundary problem. It’s the way many people try to win love and acceptance, and it is actually a bad habit that can leave you feeling defeated. If there is something you really don’t want to do, you are not in the wrong for feeling that way. Try to see what compromises, if any, can be made with people. If they can’t compromise on a fair solution, maybe you no longer need them.
    7. Consume and disperse wisdom about the psychology of people. Get on a journey to learn why people act the way they do, and you will start putting blocks on some of the bullshit they think you’re supposed to put up with. Google, Youtube, and books are your best friends.
    8. Control your laziness, and you’ll understand how much success you’ve been avoiding.
    9. Conversations shape direction. What you constantly talk about usually reveals what your future is being built around.
    10. Correct your mistakes before they become your habit.

    3. Cause change and lead; accept change and survive; resist change and die. – Ray Norda
    4. Certain people show who they really are when they are confronted with someone who refuses to be controlled or manipulated. Once you figure this out about them, you don’t ever look at them the same. At that point the whole game changes. You also don’t allow them to occupy the same space in your life that they did before if you give a damn about yourself. Self-respect comes first!

    9. Circle so small that when my phone rings I know its scammers.
    10. Climbing a mountain and building a skyscraper happen step by step and floor by floor, but when you are the one hiking or the one hammering, you don’t really experience much of the progress as it’s happening. You’re in the process of creating it, and much of the ground you gain is fairly invisible to you until you hit an overlook on the trail or finish off a substantial number of floors or stand back when you are done, point at your grand accomplishment, and regale everyone in earshot with endlessly detailed stories about how you did it.

  • Zero Halloween

Today my blog is 52 days old. A few days ago was Halloween 2026. I didn’t spend a penny for the holiday. No candy and no decorations were bought. I think this is the first year that I skipped Halloween entirely due to prices on things. I will normally at least buy 1 or 2 bags of candy for myself to eat through the month, but the prices for candy has gotten outrageous. I won’t even buy it on sale now after the Halloween holiday. I know I’m not the only one. Videos on YouTube are showing people talking about the prices and how they didn’t buy anything either. $30 for a bag of candy? LOL get out of here. I hope retailers and manufacturers lose a lot of money for their shenanigans. The economy since Biden was elected in 2020 has been teaching me all the things that I don’t need to buy, especially in more recent months. It’s not just Halloween this year that I didn’t buy candy. For awhile over the last few years, up until about 6 months ago, I was buying at least one bag of chocolate candy each week. Then I stopped because of the prices. I just skip the candy isle now. I have also stopped buying fast food so much as I’ve mentioned before (I think), and I’ve cut down a lot on buying soda. I stopped buying chips so much as well, and buy microwave popcorn instead. My money is more important to me than my hunger for junk food, although I’m still getting my fair share in cakes and sugar cookies LOL. To celebrate not allowing myself to get ripped off on Halloween candy, I’m gonna go deposit $$$ in my savings and call the holiday a success for my future. I wonder if this year might have broken me from Halloween spending? Halloween has always been my favorite holiday out of them all because it is fun. These prices are not fun though. I know I’m not telling anyone anything they don’t already know about that.

  • The Exorcist

What’s a book or movie that genuinely scared you?

That 1970s movie, The Exorcist, got me. For years after I saw it on TV (didn’t see it in the theater) it made me cringe. I won’t watch it as an adult now. Funny thing though is the 2nd one was funny to me,and I saw that one in the theater when it came out. Something about that first film though is freaky as hell, and I ain’t the one!
