I got on the Internet in 1998 with a device called WebTV, and my nose has been glued to a screen ever since. That’s nearly 30 years. In that time, I have started and abandoned countless websites and blogs but somehow always ended up at another domain because another “great idea”. I am getting older now. I am hoping that SURF MAN and CRAYY might finally be the website and blog I stick with. I currently have a bunch of stagant sites and domains in my WordPress platform inventory. I took a look a day and collected a list of 107 WordPress free sites, plus whatever .com and .co custom domains I own. That’s too many! I’ve been hoarding them since I got on WordPress (with my account this site is on – but I have other accounts). Some of these go back to 2012, possibly earlier. I am going to try and make it a focus activity during 2027 to either go back, and try to put some of the sites to use, or delete them out. I guess this may be indicative in some way of how my brain works, or maybe I’ve just been an extremely lazy blog and website owner with no actual clear direction. Or maybe it was all for fun, and I just thought it was serious. Who knows? Anyway I would like to pass on some advice to younger people out there in your 20s or so that are interested in getting into blogging, make sure you write all of your blog content offline, and save it to your personal notes for future reference, and keep your notes organized by date. Then if you do move around to another site, you can take your content with you. I wish I had a record of all my stuff going back to 1998. We live and we learn.
