CRAYY.CO

I was craving cheese last night, and I just ate some sharp cheddar cheese, but that’s not the topic of this post. So I’m typically not the type of blogger who leaves my website and blogs open for comments, specifically due to that I’m not a fan of moderating for spam or trolls, but when I started CRAYY.co on the 15th this month, I thought I would change my tune and try to have an open forum on this domain where people could comment or leave feedback. Imagine my shock when I actually started getting comments lol. It was like, what? Who’s talking to me? Imagine the bigger shock when I noticed 7 messages that were sent straight to the spam tab in comments moderation. That was magically done by Akismet (automatically included when you have a free or paid site on the WordPress.com platform). I know that Akismet has been around for a number of years, over 20 in fact. It was launched by Automattic, the company founded by WordPress co-creator Matt Mullenweg on October 25th, 2005. So I’m just glad to see that Akiskmet was doing it’s job to make it super simple to see all the spam at a glance and delete all of it by clicking the “Empty Spam” button. In other random news, if I didn’t mention it, I recently bought a new laptop to upgrade my setup for blogging, and managing my work. Specifically I bought it to use Thunderbird for Gmail, because I’m stuck using Outlook on my Surface Pro 11 because Thunderbird and even BetterBird doesn’t work on that machine, and I don’t know why, but I’m not much of a fan of Outlook. There is something I can’t pinpoint about it that makes me feel cruddy whenever I use it. So I got Thunderbird working just fine. I have started connecting some of my older email accounts, and between two that I’ve connected so far, I now have over 73K emails to do something with. I also have probably 20 more emails to add to Thunderbird. I am about as bad at hoarding old email accounts as I am hoarding WordPress.com domains lol. Oh well, there are much worse things I could be hung up on I guess.
